Thanks Posse of Male Hipsters....

I would like to extend my gratitude to this band of male hipsters:

(Excluding the girl with the bag, I'm sure she's lovely, but she's not with them.)

Oh, emo, yellow pants, green shorts, ponytail wearing life-savers!

It was because I got caught in the middle of their gang that I was able to cross 19th st. safely today on my lunch break. The Don't-Walk-Red-Hand was solid, but it was overshadowed by long hair, skinny jeans and plaid. A truck was heading towards me, but these hipster soldiers protected me.

I thank them for the kindness they did not know they bestowed.

Wild Thing, I think I love you...

This looks like it is going to be amazing!

And IMDB says:

The creatures are being portrayed by actors in 6-8 foot tall costumes, with some additional animatronics, and computer-generated faces. The costumes were created by The Jim Henson Company, who were responsible for the Muppets and Labyrinth creatures.

Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I Love a Midnight Show

Let me count the ways!

1. Everyone there is super excited to see the movie! Tons of awesome energy.

2. You're the first to see it - no spoilers!

3. I love our neighborhood and our movie theater.

This is the Pavilion back in the day:

This is the Pavilion now:

It's kinda dirty and the seats are hot pink and I've definitely seen a mouse in one of the theaters. But, I love it! It has cheap matinees and holds midnight showings for all the big blockbusters.

4. Getting sandwiches and eating on a bench across the street at the park.
(Harry Potter Picnic with my favorite lady!)

5. Waiting in a long line for three hours with all the fanatics of the neighborhood. People are hilarious.

6. Applause when the movie starts, applause when it ends. I love this! I always want to clap at the end of a movie, but people don't do it anymore. Except for Midnight Showings.

7. Hooting and hollering during the movie. Tasteful, of course. But, the feeling of you all being in this together.
"Get it, Harry!" - movie-goer about Harry talking to a pretty girl.

8. The Pavilion is like 5 blocks from our house. So, when you get out at 2:30am, you can be home 2:38am.

9. Did I mention the energy? The air is just full of excitement and anticipation. Even if the movie is bad, it's a good time!

10. The movie! This was by far the best of the Harry Potter films. The characters were the most real and relatable. The trio of Harry, Ron and Hermione definitely had their best acting moments in this movie. It was truest to the book - and so much happens! They didn't leave out details that add humor and warm fuzzies and such. There were plenty of moments they could have cut, but didn't and I am glad about it!

I'm New!

Hello World Wide Web!

It's nice to meet you/see you/talk to you/write you.

I have decided to join the ranks of the myriad of bloggers out there.

So, now I am a blogger. At least I am not a booger.

Tonight I will be seeing Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince at 12:05am at the Pavillion movie theater with my lady. We're gonna get there early so we can get to our fave seats. Which are waaaay up in the back. Because then you can see the entire screen. I'm sure fun will ensue, which means maybe tomorrow I will have a good post.

Until then, here's something:
