I Love a Midnight Show

Let me count the ways!

1. Everyone there is super excited to see the movie! Tons of awesome energy.

2. You're the first to see it - no spoilers!

3. I love our neighborhood and our movie theater.

This is the Pavilion back in the day:

This is the Pavilion now:

It's kinda dirty and the seats are hot pink and I've definitely seen a mouse in one of the theaters. But, I love it! It has cheap matinees and holds midnight showings for all the big blockbusters.

4. Getting sandwiches and eating on a bench across the street at the park.
(Harry Potter Picnic with my favorite lady!)

5. Waiting in a long line for three hours with all the fanatics of the neighborhood. People are hilarious.

6. Applause when the movie starts, applause when it ends. I love this! I always want to clap at the end of a movie, but people don't do it anymore. Except for Midnight Showings.

7. Hooting and hollering during the movie. Tasteful, of course. But, the feeling of you all being in this together.
"Get it, Harry!" - movie-goer about Harry talking to a pretty girl.

8. The Pavilion is like 5 blocks from our house. So, when you get out at 2:30am, you can be home 2:38am.

9. Did I mention the energy? The air is just full of excitement and anticipation. Even if the movie is bad, it's a good time!

10. The movie! This was by far the best of the Harry Potter films. The characters were the most real and relatable. The trio of Harry, Ron and Hermione definitely had their best acting moments in this movie. It was truest to the book - and so much happens! They didn't leave out details that add humor and warm fuzzies and such. There were plenty of moments they could have cut, but didn't and I am glad about it!
